Don’t let the few showers we had over the weekend fool you. Windy weather combined with sun and unseasonably warm temperatures makes your plants very thirsty, especially if they are flowering. If you have containerized plants the wind takes even a greater toll. Plants in containers, like hanging baskets have a very limited supply of moisture. So don’t forget to water, water, water when the forecast is for a sunny, windy day.
What can you do to minimize watering, especially in a drought….sign up for our Zeriscaping Workshop on April 21st. Ken Howell, a certified landscape consultant at Carolina Home and Garden will present options for low water requiring trees, shrubs and perennials . Other techniques of of water conservation will be included in his presentation.
